Privacy Policy
LocatorLocal is designed to perform locator generation and verification locally in the user's browser.
Information processed
When the user explicitly activates LocatorLocal and selects an element, the extension temporarily reads information available in the active page's DOM, such as element type, accessible text, attributes and surrounding structure, solely to generate and verify Playwright, CSS and XPath locators.
This page information is processed locally in the browser. LocatorLocal does not transmit page content, URLs, generated locators, form content or browsing activity to the developer or to third parties.
Information stored
LocatorLocal stores only two preferences in local extension storage: the selected interface language (en or ru) and whether the first-run onboarding hint has been dismissed. These preferences contain no page content, browsing history, locators or personally identifying information.
Network communication
LocatorLocal v1.0.0 has no backend service and sends no analytics, telemetry or advertising requests. It does not download or execute remote code.
Accounts and advertising
LocatorLocal does not require an account and contains no advertising. User data is not sold or transferred to advertising platforms or data brokers.
Permissions
activeTab: temporary access to the active page after the user invokes LocatorLocal.scripting: injects the bundled local picker into that active page.storage: stores the language and onboarding preferences described above.
LocatorLocal does not request permanent host permissions for all websites.
Data retention and deletion
Page content and generated locators are not retained by LocatorLocal. The two local preferences remain in browser extension storage until extension data is cleared or the extension is removed.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Information accessed by LocatorLocal is used only to provide the extension's disclosed single purpose: selecting page elements and locally generating/verifying automation locators. LocatorLocal's use of information is limited to that user-facing purpose and complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
